Festival of New Music - University Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra

Ready for something new? Experience the Festival of New Music (February 1-3) and join us for the closing concert in Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. University Philharmonia: Silent Cinema and Live Orchestra

Join the Challenger Learning Center and the University Philharmonia in Opperman Music Hall on September 29th for an extraordinary evening of classic charm, where the silver screen comes to life with the timeless masterpiece, Charlie Chaplin’s renowned silent film, The Kid, accompanied by the University Philharmonia, a live 24-piece orchestra. Prepare to be transported to a world of emotive storytelling and artistic brilliance, as the mesmerizing melodies of the orchestra synchronizes with the captivating scenes of The Kid; Feel the nostalgia and embrace the magic of silent cinema, a cherished art form that continues to captivate hearts and minds across generations.

University and High School students will be admitted free with ID starting at 7:05pm, as space is available. A portion of the proceeds benefit the FSU Studio Orchestra.
